Job summary

Entegee is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for a direct-hire, on-site role in Houston, TX. The position focuses on designing custom low- and medium-voltage switchgear and developing detailed diagrams and layouts in collaboration with sales and manufacturing teams.

The ideal candidate has 5–10 years of experience in switchgear design, and proficiency with ANSI, IEEE, and NEC standards, including short-circuit and arc-flash studies. Remote work is not offered at this time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5–10 years of experience designing custom electrical switchgear.
• Experience with ANSI, IEEE, and NEC standards.
• Experience designing low-voltage and medium-voltage switchgear.

Responsibilities

• Lead the custom design of low- and medium-voltage electrical switchgear.
• Develop detailed one-line diagrams, schematics, and panel layouts for custom switchgear assemblies.
• Ensure switchgear designs comply with ANSI, IEEE, and NEC standards.
• Create engineered-to-order solutions based on client specifications, industry standards, and manufacturing requirements.
• Collaborate with sales, customers, and manufacturing teams on practical and manufacturable switchgear designs.
• Perform short-circuit, coordination, and arc-flash studies to validate switchgear system performance and safety.
• Provide technical support during build and testing.
• Verify custom switchgear designs meet quality, reliability, and regulatory requirements.
