Job summary

Industrial Electric Manufacturing in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Sr. Engineering Manager for Electrical Design. This role will lead the Electrical Design Engineering team, driving excellence in custom switchgear solutions and ensuring quality in engineering outputs.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in design engineering related to switchgear and a degree in Electrical Engineering. IEM offers a competitive benefits package and the opportunity to contribute to innovative projects.

Qualifications

At least 5 years of experience in design engineering related to switchgear, power generation equipment, or custom control systems.
At least 2 years of experience in a leadership role providing mentorship to design engineers.

Responsibilities

Drive continuous improvement culture, enhancing quality of engineering and product deliverables.
Assign customer orders to engineering staff, ensuring deadlines are met.
Review drawings and BOM for completeness and accuracy.
Accountability for the performance of all design engineers.
Provide instruction, training, coaching and mentorship for design engineers.
Ensure adherence to IEM processes and standard designs.
Collaborate with local management to address deficiencies.
Facilitate technical meetings, factory tours, and witness tests.
Support high level testing of products in the local test facility.
Inspect equipment in progress on factory floors.
Occasional travel to customer sites or other IEM facilities for engineering surveys.
