Job summary

Elbit America, Inc. is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to lead complex board-level designs within SlingWorks, guiding system architecture decisions and driving subsystem integration throughout the hardware lifecycle.

You will mentor junior engineers, lead major design efforts, and ensure high-reliability, mission-critical hardware across programs. Collaboration with mechanical, systems, and software teams is essential for cohesive system-level solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or electronic engineering (Master's preferred).
• 12+ years of experience in electronic design, hardware development, and system integration.
• Experience leading major design efforts and collaborating across engineering disciplines.
• Strong experience with schematic capture tools (Mentor Graphics Xpedition) and LTSPICE for analysis/simulation.
• Familiarity with PLM or ERP tools.
• Experience with aerospace/defense MIL-STD or DO-254 practices is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of complex electrical and board-level hardware, including schematic capture and interface definition.
• Contribute to electrical architecture decisions across digital, analog, mixed-signal, and power domains.
• Integrate processors, sensors, high-speed interfaces, and support electronics at subsystem level.
• Support FPGA electrical integration strategies (no RTL required).
• Direct PCB layout activities to ensure signal integrity, EMC/EMI robustness, manufacturability, and compliance.
• Lead board bring-up, electrical debug, validation, and root-cause analysis in lab environments.
• Develop and implement test plans, validation strategies, and debug methodologies for program hardware.
• Drive resolution of electrical issues across prototype and low-rate production builds.
• Lead electrical design for SWaP-constrained systems (power distribution, power integrity, thermal).
• Collaborate with mechanical, systems, and embedded software teams for system-level integration.
• Participate in architecture reviews, trade studies, and design reviews.
• Support DFM/DFT approaches and transition designs from prototype to manufacturing.
• Perform electrical analysis, modeling, and simulation to reduce risk.
• Provide mentoring and design reviews for junior and mid-level engineers.
