Job summary

Custom Power is a leader in battery pack design and manufacturing for medical, aerospace, defense, and industrial sectors. The engineer will design, prototype, and validate electronic circuits, interfaces, cables, and accessories for battery packs, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to transition designs to manufacturing.

You'll work with a Global Battery Technologist, gain exposure to a broad range of chemistries, and contribute to rigorous design-for-manufacturing and testing practices

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
• 10+ years of experience in electronics technology and embedded hardware.
• 8+ years designing Battery Management Systems for battery applications.
• Experience designing circuits for lithium‑ion battery packs.
• Proficiency with Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout.

Responsibilities

• Design and validate analog and digital circuits for battery packs of various chemistries.
• Integrate battery charger systems into circuit designs for safety and efficiency.
• Select components to meet project requirements and ensure manufacturability.
• Create schematics and PCB layouts using Altium Designer; ensure signal integrity and thermal management.
• Collaborate with firmware engineers on BMS firmware and fuel gauge development.
• Ensure compliance with UN/UL/IEC/AS standards and PPAP/APQP processes.
