About the role:

The Data Center Senior Electrical Engineer will assist and augment the day-to-day capacity of the Chief Electrical Engineering Officer on our hyperscale data center design and construction program within the TECfusions’ Engineering team. This includes the design of new hyperscale data centers and campuses, supporting operations staff with engineering solutions, and streamlining construction issues. You will work in a fast-paced environment and have many opportunities to work with new technologies and learn new things.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with core teams to develop, implement, and manage the data center electrical designs at the company’s data center locations, starting from Basis of Design (BOD) to Issued For Construction (IFC) documents for new data center sites, infrastructure upgrades, and renovations.
• Peer review consultants’ deliverables including drawing sets, specifications, sequence of operations, calculations, models, etc. and provide comments & resolutions.
• Review and provide recommendations on potential value engineering opportunities.
• Perform rapid conceptual sketches using CAD or BIM for visualization and spatial/dimensional validations for internal purposes only.
• Support Data Center Operations with any design upgrades at the site.
• Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within boundaries of company policies.
• Communicate these in a clear concise work statement for the field.
• Represent the company in project meetings as needed.
• Support quality assurance and control during the construction process.
• Support the commissioning team in the development of documentation and testing procedures for each project, review field testing results, and provide technical guidance to Vendor teams in the resolution of issues.

Qualifications:

• Ability to work in the USA
• 8+ years’ experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar engineering degree
• Experience with Electrical Power Systems such as UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply), Generators, Switchgears, and Batteries
• Strong ability to take initiative, work independently, and be accountable for the results
• Possess good communication and leadership skills
• Ability to travel to project sites where needed
• Ability to prioritize tasks

You should have a majority of the following:

• Licensed PE / EIT
• Experience with AutoCAD for minor tweaks for any design plans
• Previous experience using: Autodesk Revit and Formia
• Strong understanding of Load flow studies, fault calculations, Arc Flash, overcurrent coordination studies, duct bank calculations, harmonic studies, etc.
• Previous Data Center / Mission Critical experience preferred.
• Comprehensive knowledge of building codes and standards for design of Data Centers
• Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies
• Electrical equipment testing experience in a Critical Facilities / facility environment.
• Experience working with building operations staff
• Experience with design and operation of natural gas-fired power generation plants
• Medium-voltage switchgear and distribution
