Job summary

Beeby Anderson Recruitment is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer for a fast-growing consultancy delivering sustainable built environments across the UK. This fully remote role offers flexible hours and cross-disciplinary collaboration with teams in the UK.

You will lead electrical building services design, providing innovative, compliant solutions from concept to completion while mentoring junior engineers and supporting low-carbon strategies.

Qualifications

• 6+ years' experience in electrical building services design.
• Strong technical capability across LV distribution, lighting, renewable systems and sustainable design.
• Proficient in industry software (AutoCAD, Revit, Amtech/ProDesign, BIM platforms).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative environment.
• Passionate about innovation, sustainability and improving building performance.
• Ideally working toward or holding professional registration (IEng/CEng).

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design for power, lighting, fire safety, renewable systems and low-carbon technologies.
• Produce detailed calculations, schematics, layouts and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across BIM, MEP, sustainability and structural engineering.
• Support BREEAM, PassivHaus and LZC design strategies.
• Provide expert guidance to clients and stakeholders throughout project lifecycles.
• Ensure compliance with UK regulations, industry standards and best practice.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement across the team.

With a diverse project portfolio spanning MEP design, low-carbon systems, renewable energy, BIM, PassivHaus, SuDS and high-performance building engineering, they are expanding their technical capability and seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join the team on a fully remote basis.

This role is designed for engineers who want the freedom, flexibility and focus that comes with working from home. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the UK, contribute to cutting-edge sustainable design projects, and enjoy a modern, digital-first working environment without the commute.

Role

You will lead electrical building services design across a variety of residential, commercial and industrial projects, ensuring safe, efficient and environmentally responsible outcomes. Working closely with clients, architects, structural engineers and sustainability specialists, you'll deliver high-quality technical solutions from concept through to completion.
