Job summary

Mackinnon Bruce International, partnering with a leading global infrastructure developer, is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support delivery of large-scale data center projects across the United States. You will work with development and project teams to drive electrical design, specification, and delivery from concept through construction.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in electrical/building services design for data centers, with RFQ/RFP leadership and strong vendor

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering (Bachelor's or Master's).
• 10+ years in electrical/building services design for data centers.
• Experience leading RFQ/RFP processes and multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Support development teams with RFPs, RFIs, and technical submissions.
• Lead electrical design delivery from concept through to construction.
• Review contractor designs to identify risks, gaps, and non-conformances.
• Specify and evaluate electrical equipment aligned to client requirements.
• Provide technical oversight throughout the design and delivery lifecycle.
• Collaborate with vendors, consultants, and contractors.
• Ensure compliance with performance standards and project specifications.
• Contribute to optimisation, efficiency and post-delivery improvements.
• Manage design coordination, approvals, and stakeholder engagement.
• Support feasibility and due diligence for new developments.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to team development.

The Client

We are partnering with with a leading global infrastructure developer to appoint an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the delivery of large-scale, mission-critical data center projects across the United States.

The Opportunity

This is a key technical role, partnering closely with development and project teams to drive electrical design, specification, and delivery across multiple data center builds. You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring projects meet performance, quality, budget, and timeline expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Support development teams with RFPs, RFIs, and technical submissions
• Lead electrical design delivery from concept through to construction
• Review contractor designs to identify risks, gaps, and non-conformances
• Specify and evaluate electrical equipment aligned to client requirements
• Provide technical oversight throughout the design and delivery lifecycle
• Collaborate with vendors, consultants, and contractors
• Ensure compliance with performance standards and project specifications

About You

• Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering (Bachelor's or Master's)
• 10+ years' experience in electrical/building services design within data centers
• Strong understanding of data center infrastructure and BOD design
• Experience leading projects across RFQ/RFP processes and multi-disciplinary teams
• Knowledge of electrical protection and grading studies
• Proven experience managing contractors, consultants, and vendor relationships
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
• Experience with hyperscale or colocation environments is highly desirable
