Base pay range

$154,304.00/yr - $181,289.00/yr

Apex engineers will play a critical role in expanding the day-to-day capacity of the client’s Electrical Engineering team by directly contributing to the design, development, and delivery of some of the world’s most advanced hyperscale data centers. These facilities are the backbone of global digital infrastructure—powering everything from cloud computing to AI and real-time communications. Apex engineers will be hands-on in the electrical design and localization of massive data center campuses, shaping everything from 345kV substations down to branch circuit distribution. They’ll tackle real-world construction challenges, troubleshoot operational issues, and implement engineering improvements that impact power reliability, efficiency, and uptime at scale. This is a dynamic, high-impact role that blends deep technical expertise with problem-solving agility, giving engineers the opportunity to innovate in a fast-paced environment where critical infrastructure performance truly matters.

1. Design & Localization of Hyperscale Data Centers

• Review and support development of electrical systems including site layout, single-line diagrams, substation configurations (up to 345kV), and system calculations.
• Evaluate and interpret internal specifications and vendor compliance documents.
• Oversee design consultants, review deliverables, and ensure alignment with engineering standards.
• Provide conceptual sketches to convey design ideas and assist with internal coordination.
• Identify and recommend value engineering opportunities.

2. Operational Support

• Provide engineering solutions to address electrical issues and improve infrastructure reliability across active campuses.
• Analyze root cause reports and trend data to inform reliability improvements.
• Propose upgrades and improvements to extend equipment life and minimize downtime.

3. Construction Support

• Help resolve construction-originated engineering issues by coordinating with design and field teams.
• Contribute to design change communications and support standardization improvements between design, construction, and operations.
• Log and manage engineering issues using internal tracking tools.
• Prepare presentations and technical reports to communicate findings and recommendations.
• Perform calculations and analysis using spreadsheets and engineering tools.

Requirements

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering (PE license preferred).
• 5+ years experience with high/medium/low voltage electrical distribution systems and substations up to 345kV.
• Experience with mission-critical facilities is a plus (data centers, hospitals, nuclear plants, labs or airports).
• Familiarity with specifying major electrical equipment and performing power system analyses.
• Skilled in AutoCAD, BIM, and spreadsheet tools.
• General understanding of multidisciplinary coordination including structural, civil, mechanical, and IT systems.
