Senior Electrical Engineer

Reacting to the manufacturing and development of textile products, the Senior Electrical Engineer manages the electrical aspects of production for the Hand Towels business unit at Kimberly‑Clark’s Loudon Mill. This role blends capital project leadership with day‑to‑day reliability engineering, ensuring both long‑term asset health and the day‑to‑day performance of high‑speed manufacturing equipment.

Position Summary

The Senior Electrical Engineer provides technical leadership, creativity, & operational expertise in the design, development, optimization, troubleshooting, & operation of TM4 and supporting processes.

Responsibilities
  • Follows the Safety Roles and Responsibilities Matrix for Loss Prevention and Control, holding all team members accountable.
  • Provides guidance in the initiation, design, optimization, and development of manufacturing and supporting processes to achieve unit objectives, including projects for significant cost savings and year‑over‑year improvements.
  • Develops expertise in engineering principles and scientific analysis, offering advice and counsel sought by others.
  • Leads security and documentation efforts to protect proprietary information and ensure data retrieval.
  • Identifies, defines, and solves problems/opportunities using LEAN methodologies to meet unit objectives.
  • Leads medium‑to‑large capital projects ($1MM–$30MM) from concept through commissioning, including scope definition, equipment selection, installation, checkout, and startup.
  • Adheres to corporate policies and emphasizes Corporate Family Integrity (CFI) and internal controls on all projects.
  • Communicates to inform, engage, and inspire, building collaboration and organizational alignment.
  • Participates in developing others in the incumbent’s area of expertise and demonstrates understanding of diverse backgrounds.
  • Leads by example in safety, ensuring all designs and processes meet corporate and regulatory requirements.
  • Improves process capability to reduce defects and variability, identifying and implementing products, processes, materials, systems, and procedures to achieve business objectives.
  • Creates an inclusive environment where all team members are respected and motivated to improve individual and team contributions.
  • Receives broad objectives, assigning tasks that may range from individual contribution to team leadership, and communicates directly with project sponsors to define scope, control, and resource use.
  • Provides electrical leadership for manufacturing asset management teams on a day‑to‑day basis.
  • Acts as a recognized technical leader, upholding high professional standards, vision, and sensitivity.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 7years of industrial experience in high‑speed manufacturing environments.
  • Strong experience with Allen‑Bradley ControlLogix drives, HMI interfacing, and I/O systems.
  • Experience with AC/DC instrumentation, flow/pressure/temperature consistency control valves, and power distribution systems up to 480V.
  • Knowledge of NEC and NFPA requirements.
  • Manufacturing background with project‑management experience.
  • Proficiency directing work and managing contractors.
Preferred Experience
  • Tissue‑making production equipment, materials, and processes.
  • Experion system familiarity.
  • Motion‑control and servo‑systems expertise.
  • Control‑net communications.
  • Safety‑systems knowledge.
  • Power distribution systems up to 15kV.
  • SAP experience.
