Position: Senior Electrical Engineer
Duration: 12 Months
Description of Responsibilities:
- Facilitate electrical building system startups & commissioning activities.
- Provide SME assistance in review of product and equipment submittals, shop drawings, engineering design drawings, specifications, & contractor RFIs.
- Ensure safety procedures, work practices, and OSHA requirements are followed for electrical installations, including Lock-Out, Electrical Safe Work Practices, Hazardous Energy Control, & arc flash safety.
- Maintain extensive knowledge of building codes and industry standards (IBC, NEC, NESC, NFPA, ASME, AMCA, ARI, AWS, ASHRAE, FM).
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors for equipment testing, delivery, installation, commissioning & handover.
- Manage weekend and plant shutdown work coordination.
- Conduct work progress inspections regularly.
- Support construction activities including scheduling, quality checks, meetings, and utility outages.
- Inspect electrical systems for compliance with specifications, standards, & codes.
- Oversee electrical contractors to ensure adherence to project timelines and coordination.
- Prepare status reports on work progress and schedules for Project Managers.
- Contribute to improvements in project technical specifications and standards.
- Communicate technical information effectively in writing and verbally.
- Manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines effectively.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of professional experience with at least 2 years in construction management.
- Experience in automotive or similar industrial manufacturing facilities.
- Over 5 years in electrical design.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Project.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Background in civil or electrical disciplines.
- Experience with startup/commissioning of substations or mechanical equipment.
