Job summary

Sciton, a Silicon Valley-based leader in laser and energy technologies for aesthetic and medical applications, seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to drive hardware design for next-generation laser systems. You will lead electronic hardware development, embed controller hardware around ARM microprocessors, and guide products from concept to production in a highly regulated environment.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure hardware meets performance, safety, and reliability

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required.
• 10+ years of hands-on electrical engineering experience.
• Experience taking products through full development lifecycle.
• Experience with ARM-based microcontrollers or microprocessors.
• Experience in FDA-regulated medical devices.

Responsibilities

• Lead electronic hardware design from concept through production, including circuit design, simulation, analysis, and validation.
• Develop embedded controller hardware based on ARM microcontrollers and microprocessors.
• Design system wiring harnesses and electrical interconnects.
• Perform hardware integration, system bring-up, testing, debugging, and prototype evaluation.
• Support system verification, regulatory compliance, and product validation activities.
• Select electronic components with consideration for performance, reliability, availability, cost, and long-term lifecycle management.
• Collaborate with mechanical, software, manufacturing, and quality engineering teams throughout New Product Introduction (NPI) and sustaining engineering efforts.
• Support prototype builds, troubleshooting, SMD rework, and laboratory testing.

Position Summary

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you'll play a critical role in the design, development, and support of Sciton's next generation of aesthetic medical laser systems. You'll work alongside a multidisciplinary engineering team to develop innovative electronic hardware used in high-performance, FDA-regulated medical devices.

From concept through production, you'll help design complex electrical systems, integrate embedded hardware, troubleshoot prototypes, and support products throughout the development lifecycle. What You'll Work On

What We're Looking For

Required Experience

• Strong experience designing embedded hardware utilizing ARM-based microcontrollers or microprocessors
• Experience developing FDA-regulated medical devices or other regulated medical electronic systems
• Strong understanding of electronic hardware design from concept through production
• Experience collaborating across multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Core Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required
• 10+ years of hands-on electrical engineering experience
• Proven experience taking products through the full product development lifecycle
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced engineering environment

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Analog and mixed-signal circuit design
• ADC, DAC, and microcontroller interface design
• Operational amplifier circuit design and signal conditioning
• Sensor and instrumentation systems, including electro-optical or pyroelectric sensors
• Robotics, motion control, or mechatronics experience
• Experience supporting EMC, safety, or regulatory compliance testing
• Medical laser or aesthetic device experience

Compensation and Benefits:

The base salary range for this position is $125k - $162k. In addition to a competitive market-based salary, Sciton provides an opportunity to participate in equity/stock incentive programs, a profit-sharing bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package, including 401K with matching.
