Job summary

ESPO Corporation in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Staff Electrical Designer for a 6-month contract. You will develop distribution packages for overhead and underground projects, perform calculations, and work with the team through design and construction phases.

The role requires a degree in drafting technology or related field with 7+ years of distribution experience, or equivalent, and a proven ability to apply utility standards. Competitive benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in drafting technology or related field with minimum 7 years of experience.
• Must have distribution background and experience.
• Legal work authorization in the country where the position is located.

Responsibilities

• Develop and prepare distribution voltage packages for overhead and underground projects.
• Create design sketches, cost estimates, BOMs and required deliverables.
• Perform distribution calculations: cable pulling, voltage drop, pole loading.
• Apply knowledge of NESC standards and utility specs.
• Research project data and assist managers with documentation.
• Conduct field inspections for overhead/underground facilities.
• Prepare communications on vegetation management, ROW, outages.
• Develop client presentations and progress visuals.
