Job summary
Sargent Lundy is seeking a skilled drafter/engineer with expertise in electrical distribution design to join a project team in a hybrid work environment. The role focuses on drafting construction sketches for 4 kV through 34 kV systems, along with associated calculations, BOM development, and design analyses.
The ideal candidate has an associate degree in drafting or related engineering tech, plus significant experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation.
Qualifications
- Requires Associate’s Degree in Drafting, and/or a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Technology, and/or a high school diploma.
- 10+ years of distribution design experience; 7+ years of drafting coursework or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Prepare construction sketches and details for overhead/underground network services (4 KV through 34 KV).
- Create traffic control plans, permit drawings, structural facility drawings, equipment drawings, plans and profiles.
- Perform short circuit and voltage drop calculations; develop BOMs and estimates.
- Analyze and design priority feeds and plan system modifications.
- Develop work packages to troubleshoot, repair, replace or modify distribution systems.
