Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced designer/engineer to contribute on electrical distribution projects in a hybrid work setting in the United States. You will draft construction drawings, perform short circuit analyses, develop BOMs, and plan distribution system modifications in a collaborative project team environment.

The role requires several years of distribution design experience, proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• This position requires an Associate’s Degree in Drafting, and/or a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology, and/or a high school diploma.
• 7 or more years drafting coursework or equivalent technical experience.
• A minimum of 10 years of distribution design experience.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles for technical plans and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare construction sketches and details for overhead/underground distribution networks (4 KV through 34 KV).
• Perform short circuit and voltage drop calculations.
• Develop Bills of Materials and estimates.
• Compile proper pole type and heights; analyze and design priority feeds.
• Develop work packages to troubleshoot, repair, or modify electrical distribution systems.
• Plan modifications to the system and follow the performance of the work.
