Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Staff Electrical Designer to join a project team and deliver electrical schematics, grid layouts, lighting systems, and control designs for a diverse portfolio of projects. You will plan drawings, perform design calculations, prepare proposals and construction documents, and ensure quality within schedule and budget while collaborating with engineers, designers, and clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in drafting technology or related field with 7 years of related experience.
• Or Associate Degree with 8 years of related experience.
• Or 9 years of progressive detailing and design experience.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical schematics, grid layouts, lighting, protection, and controls.
• Prepare production drawings, problem analysis, and layout of non-routine assignments.
• Compute conduit/grounding layouts and relay panel schematics.
• Review drawings for QA within budget and schedule.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers and designers in a multi-discipline team.
