Job summary

Burns & McDonnell seeks a Senior Electrical Designer in Denver to lead planning, site evaluations, and electrical design efforts across diverse project types. You will guide schematic development, 2D/3D drawings, and system layouts while coordinating with engineers and clients to ensure quality and on-time delivery.

You will oversee design QA/QC, mentor staff, and contribute to proposal development. Strong AutoCAD/MicroStation and Excel skills are essential, with a background in power systems

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or equivalent with 13+ years related experience or an associate degree with 14+ years.
• Expert understanding of AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Excel to develop design deliverables.
• Ability to learn new design software and apply 2D/3D applications for engineering drawings.
• Strong knowledge in design theory, calculations, and system design.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical project designs including schematics, grid plans, and single-line diagrams.
• Coordinate across disciplines to deliver quality design documents and construction drawings.
• Approve reports, drawings and tests to meet project deliverables.
• Mentor junior staff and participate in client development meetings.
• Perform QA/QC reviews and ensure adherence to standards.
