Job summary

System One is seeking a Senior Electrical Designer in Charlotte, NC. The role leads electrical design activities for power generation and infrastructure projects, mentoring junior designers and coordinating with multiple disciplines to ensure successful delivery.

Requirements include 12+ years in electrical design, NEC knowledge, and proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation. Travel to field sites and office environments is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12+ years of electrical design experience, especially in power generation/infrastructure.
• Experience serving in a Senior or Lead Electrical Designer role.
• Strong knowledge of electrical raceway systems, grounding and bonding, lighting, and facility environments.
• Proficiency with NEC and applicable power industry standards.
• Willingness to travel and work in both office and field environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design activities and provide technical direction for power generation, transmission, and industrial projects.
• Plan, execute, and review advanced electrical design scopes ensuring codes and client requirements.
• Serve as technical lead and design checker, mentoring junior designers and supporting constructability and field delivery.
• Coordinate design activities with other disciplines to ensure seamless project execution.
• Design and lay out complex electrical systems including raceways, lighting, grounding, and bonding.
• Participate in design reviews, constructability evaluations, and client meetings.
• Provide field support through site visits, verifications, redlines, and as-built documentation.
• Support procurement activities including vendor coordination and submittal reviews.
