Job summary

Rosendin is seeking an experienced Designer III in Coppell, TX to develop wiring and lighting layouts, perform energy calculations, and lead design efforts across projects. You will coordinate with clients, architects, and engineers, applying NFPA and NEC standards while guiding junior designers.

You will work closely with project managers and the engineering team to meet design criteria, budget, and schedule, while ensuring accuracy and thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of NFPA and local building codes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Illuminance software.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities.
• Ability to calculate illumination levels for layouts and energy docs.
• LEED calculations with minimal supervision.
• Develop a complete set of design documents with little supervision.
• Provide design modeling training to designers and engineers.
• Fluency in 3D modeling and REVIT.

Responsibilities

• Mark up branch circuit lighting and power plans; fill panel schedules.
• Perform energy code calculations and local energy requirements with little supervision.
• Apply Rosendin standards for wire sizing, transformer feeders, and protection.
• Calculate illumination levels and layout fixtures with minimal supervision.
• Lead lighting design and controls with owner/RFP inputs; supervise other designers.
• Calculate power loads and distribution duty; determine demands.
• Coordinate with architecture, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and other trades.
• Create installation details for construction.
• Perform short circuit and thermal calculations under Analytics oversight.
• Adhere to NEC and local codes for distribution, grounding, and emergency systems.
• Attend project design team meetings; interface with client and installer teams.
• Coordinate criteria with PM and Engineering Team Lead; manage budgets/schedules.
• Back-check own and others' work for accuracy.
• Perform comprehensive field work and surveying.
• Independently layout Electrical Rooms with proper clearances.
• Other duties as assigned within scope.
