Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Designer/Engineer for a National Design-Build MEPS Contractor based in Florida. You will develop electrical layouts, drawings, schematics, isometrics, and documentation for large-scale projects, ensuring code compliance and constructability.

The role leads design across bidding, permitting, and construction, coordinating with clients, engineers, and field teams while performing critical electrical calculations and reviews.

Qualifications

• 4-10+ years of relevant electrical design, engineering, or construction experience.
• Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local electrical codes.
• Working knowledge of IBC, IECC, and construction safety requirements.
• Strong understanding of electrical equipment, installation methods, and electrical design fundamentals.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities simultaneously.
• Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical layouts, detailed drawings, schematics, isometrics, and system designs.
• Coordinate design solutions while balancing code requirements, constructability, client expectations, and project budgets.
• Serve as a technical lead across multiple projects during bidding, design, permitting, and construction.
• Provide technical direction and support to project and design team members.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, project teams, engineers, and inspecting authorities.
• Perform electrical calculations including building service loads, voltage drop, short circuit, and lighting photometrics.
• Review designs for compliance with applicable codes and project specifications.
• Assist with resolving electrical design and constructability issues throughout the project lifecycle.
