Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Senior Electrical Designer/Engineer in St. Petersburg, FL, to lead electrical design across multiple large-scale projects. Hybrid work arrangement offered, with a relocation package for qualifying candidates.

You will develop layouts, drawings, schematics, isometrics, and perform calculations while ensuring NEC codes, constructability, and budget alignment. This role requires 4–10+ years of experience and a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or related field.

Qualifications

• 4-10+ years of relevant electrical design, engineering, or construction experience.
• Strong knowledge of NEC and applicable local codes.
• Familiarity with IBC, IECC, and construction safety requirements.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience on large-scale commercial, multifamily, residential, or similar construction projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical layouts, detailed drawings, schematics, isometrics, and system designs.
• Coordinate design solutions while balancing code requirements, constructability, client expectations, and project budgets.
• Serve as a technical lead across multiple projects during bidding, design, permitting, and construction.
• Provide technical direction and support to project and design team members.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, project teams, engineers, and inspecting authorities.
• Perform electrical calculations including building service loads, voltage drop, short circuit, and lighting photometrics.
• Review designs for compliance with applicable codes and project specifications.
• Assist with resolving electrical design and constructability issues throughout the project lifecycle.
