Job summary

CEI is seeking a fully competent Electrical Engineer to design and deliver large-scale PV and battery energy storage systems (1–500+ MW). You will lead design efforts, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with project management and field teams to drive successful project outcomes.

The role emphasizes independent problem solving, configuration of CAD/ETAP workflows, and adherence to engineering standards with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5-7 years of electrical design experience at a design firm or design-build contractor; solar experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of NEC and NESC for utility-scale power system design.
• Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute electrical designs for utility-scale PV and BESS systems.
• Produce construction documentation including drawings, reports, and specs.
• Design and review AC/DC systems, grounding, and electrical layouts.
• Perform load flow, short circuit, voltage drop, and thermal analyses.
• Review equipment submittals, respond to RFIs, and support construction with technical expertise.
• Lead coordination with engineers, PMs, superintendents, and clients.
• Maintain QA/QC processes and code compliance.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
• Attend site visits and technical meetings as required.
