Job summary

System One is seeking a Senior Electrical Designer to join our Omaha office. Under guidance from project managers, you will prepare electrical construction drawings for power stations and industrial plants, leveraging AutoCAD, AVEVA E3D, and MicroStation to deliver accurate designs.

You will verify criteria, provide field support, review drawings for interferences, and mentor other drafters. This 6-month contract offers onsite work in Omaha with a path to permanent employment for the right

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as an Electrical Designer.
• Extensive knowledge of grounding, lighting, power design, cable tray, duct bank layouts, and drawings.
• Strong proficiency with CAD programs (AutoCAD, AVEVA E3D, MicroStation).
• Deep understanding of NEC code and electrical industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering drawings and schematics of electrical systems.
• Utilize CAD programs (AutoCAD, AVEVA E3D, MicroStation).
• Assist in planning, design, and development of electrical construction drawings under guidance from PMs/ Engineers.
• Research project criteria to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Provide field support including verification for retrofit and as-built documentation.
• Design complete electrical systems for power stations and industrial plants (Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals).
• Review drawings for interferences and resolve issues with project disciplines.
• Supervise and direct other designers and drafters during projects.
• Perform design checks to ensure code compliance.
• Develop material specs, requisitions, and contractor scopes of work.
• Communicate with engineers to resolve design issues.
• Support client inquiries with technical expertise.
