Job summary

System One seeks an Electrical Designer in Kansas City, MO for a contract-to-hire, onsite role. The designer will support planning, drawings, schematics, lighting, power systems, and controls, working closely with a project team.

Requirements include a degree in drafting technology or related field with CAD proficiency (AutoCAD, MicroStation, Excel) and 2D/3D design experience. Strong communication and detail orientation are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in drafting technology or related field or equivalent experience.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation and Excel to deliver design deliverables.
• Ability to quickly learn new design software and tools.
• Experience with 2D and 3D engineering drawings and CAD workflows.
• Basic knowledge of design, calculations and design systems.
• Strong teamwork and ability to resolve design issues within a multi-discipline group.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and strong attention to detail.
• Fundamental understanding of engineering disciplines and design production.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, site evaluations, analyses, and documentation for electrical projects.
• Design electrical schematics, grid layouts, lighting, protection and controls.
• Set up CAD configurations and procedures at project start for the design team.
• Prepare engineering drawings from rough sketches using CAD software.
• Support drawing production, layouts, and calculations on varied tasks.
• Incorporate schedules, budgets and project criteria into electrical designs.
