Job summary

Bowman in Houston, TX is seeking a Designer IV, Electrical (Oil & Gas) to design and develop electrical systems for diverse projects. You will create detailed schematics and layouts using CAD, select components, and participate in scoping, planning, and scope management activities.

Work closely with engineers and stakeholders to optimize performance, ensure code compliance, and deliver reliable electrical solutions for facilities in an energy environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant experience in electrical design for oil & gas projects.
• Bachelor’s or associate degree in a related field is preferred.
• Excellent facilitation, communication, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides CAD drafting; prepares drawings and schematics from specifications, layouts, vendor data, and sketches.
• Coordinates with engineers/designers to ensure adherence to specifications and standards.
• Supports equipment sizing, alternative analyses, and other deliverables.
• Assists in the engineering, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of facilities.
• Presents design deliverables to project members and stakeholders.
• Plans and tracks deliverables to support project reporting and schedules.
• Identifies scope changes and estimates impacts to effort and schedule.
• Supports RFP scope evaluation, deliverables, and effort estimates.
• Prepares and approves electrical equipment, conduit, and wiring BOMs and designs.
