Job summary

Avinyaa Technologies, LLC. is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead MV/LV electrical design for industrial facilities and process plants in a Pittsburgh-area EPC setting.

The role focuses on delivering electrical engineering deliverables, performing power system studies, and coordinating with multiple disciplines through FEED, detailed engineering, procurement, and construction phases.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and approve MV (5 kV-35 kV) and LV designs for industrial facilities and process plants.
• Prepare electrical deliverables: Load Lists, Feeder Lists, SLDs, cable schedules, wiring diagrams, interconnection diagrams.
• Perform cable sizing, transformer sizing, CT/VT sizing, load calculations, grounding calculations, tray loading, bus duct sizing, battery sizing, and UPS calculations.
• Conduct power system studies: short-circuit analysis, load-flow, protection coordination, relay setting calculations, harmonic analysis.
• Design and specify MV switchgear, MCCs, transformers, protection relays, bus ducts, DC systems, and UPS systems.
• Develop electrical layouts for substations, transformer yards, switchgear rooms, equipment rooms, cable trays, grounding systems, and lighting.
• Prepare specifications, datasheets, MTOs, BOQs, and BOMs; review vendor quotes and technical submissions.
• Support lighting, grounding, hazardous-area electrical design, fire alarm and communication systems as required.
• Prepare and review 2D drawings; support 3D layouts, panel layouts, cable tray routing, and clash detection.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, consultants, vendors, contractors, and construction teams.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, ANSI, NEMA, UL, NFPA 70E and project specs.
