• Design and implement electrical control and automation systems for mining processes and industrial machinery.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant mining regulations, safety standards (e.g., SANS, MHS), and international codes.
• Oversee electrical installation, commissioning, and testing of new equipment and systems.
• Conduct electrical safety audits and risk assessments for site operations.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for existing electrical infrastructure.
• Collaborate with site management, operations teams, and external contractors.
• Prepare detailed engineering reports, project documentation, and maintenance guidelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a substantial focus on mining or heavy industrial applications.
• Proven experience in designing electrical systems for heavy machinery, conveyors, crushers, and processing plants.
• Strong knowledge of high‑voltage systems, motor control, VSD applications, and industrial automation.
• Familiarity with mining safety regulations and electrical standards (e.g., Mine Health and Safety Act, SANS).
• Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN) and relevant simulation tools.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and project execution skills.

• Registered Professional Engineer (Pr.Eng) with ECSA is highly advantageous.
