Job summary

Vertiv's Ironton, OH site seeks an Electrical Design Engineer to develop electrical enclosures and CDU products, collaborating across mechanical, controls, procurement and marketing to meet quality and cost goals.

Requirements include a BSEE, 8+ years in hardware development, and experience with Creo Schematics and testing instruments. On-site position with relocation assistance and sign-on bonus for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• BSEE or related degree from an accredited college or university.
• 8+ years of hardware development experience.
• 8+ years of PLM or product documentation management experience.
• Proficient in drafting functional requirements and design documentation.
• Skilled in Creo Schematics or equivalent schematic capture software.
• Hands-on experience with testing instruments (DMMs, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).
• Able to meet hardware development schedules and ensure manufacturability.
• Strong communication and teamwork in a multicultural environment.

Responsibilities

• Design new and low voltage electrical enclosures (>240V AC).
• Harness design, schematic creation and 3D wiring/cabling modeling.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, process, production and marketing teams.
• Participate in design reviews, cost target discussions and customer-focused problem solving.
• Create and audit wiring schematics, panel layouts and wire harnesses.
• Perform engineering calculations to verify design requirements.
