Job summary

Vertiv in Ohio is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the development of electrical system designs from medium/low voltage switchgear to IT racks. You will prepare schematics, 2D/3D models, perform load calculations, and generate technical documentation.

You will ensure safety and compliance with NEC and other standards, incorporate best engineering practices, participate in project kick-offs, and coordinate with cross-functional teams. Travel 5-15% is required, and PE license is optional.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• PE License is optional.
• 1–5 years of electrical engineering experience.
• Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, or EPLAN for 3D modeling.
• Knowledge of data center electrical equipment: switchgear, UPS, distribution design.
• Understanding of National Electrical Code.

Responsibilities

• Support development of electrical system design from medium/low voltage switchboard to IT rack.
• Prepare electrical schematics, 2D & 3D models, perform load calculations, and generate technical documentation.
• Apply standards to ensure designs are safe, compliant, and cost-effective.
• Integrate good engineering practices at each design phase.
• Participate in project kick-off and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
• Review and technically approve workshop docs and supplier RFQs.
• Specify materials, services, and necessary certifications for execution.
• Provide technical support during fabrication and assembly.
• Collaborate with site managers and manufacturing to resolve electrical issues.
