Job summary

Skydio, a leading US drone company, seeks an Electrical Design Engineer to architect and refine the electrical systems powering state-of-the-art computing hardware, sensing, and power systems. You will lead architecture decisions and coordinate detailed design around a mobile SoC, integrating cameras and imaging electronics for high-volume production.

The role emphasizes DFM, validation planning, and solving reliability and performance challenges across production, with potential relocation

Qualifications

• Experience shipping high-volume consumer electronics in a senior/architect level role.
• Mobile SoC design experience.
• High-speed digital design expertise.
• Experience with connected products (WiFi / cellular).
• Ability to troubleshoot EMI/RF issues.
• Proficient in Python and C scripting.
• FAA Part 107 certification or preparedness.

Responsibilities

• Define architecture and select components for embedded electro-mechanical and optical system.
• Direct detailed design of main logic, interconnect, power, RF and sensing around mobile SOC.
• Integrate cameras and imaging electronics.
• Incorporate DFM and manufacturing considerations for mass production.
• Create and execute a validation plan for system electronics.
• Address reliability, yield, and performance challenges through production.
