Job summary

Skydio seeks an embedded software engineer to architect, build out and lead the development of both current and future drone products in a fast-paced environment. You will design the embedded software that runs on the vehicle and provide technical direction across complex systems.

Responsibilities include bringing up hardware, integrating subsystems, and writing sensor interfaces and drivers. Proficiency in C++, ARM, real-time constraints, and Embedded Linux is essential, with Python for

Qualifications

Experience debugging ARM assembly level code.
Strong C/C++ in real-time embedded environments.
Python development for tooling and automation.
Embedded Linux kernel/userspace development experience.
Driver interfaces and sensor integration experience.
Hardware bring-up and low-level debugging of devices.
Familiarity with SOCs (Qualcomm a plus).
FAA Part 107 certification within the first 60 days is encouraged.

Responsibilities

Architect, build out and lead the development of embedded software for Skydio’s drone products.
Design and implement embedded software that runs on the vehicle.
Characterize, integrate, and validate key subsystems (e.g., cameras, radios).
Bring up and debug new hardware to ensure robust operation.
Write interfaces and drivers for sensors and other devices.
Provide technical direction and architecture of complex systems.
