Job summary

Skydio, the leading US drone company, seeks an Electrical Design Engineer to architect and refine electrical systems for embedded computing hardware, sensing, and power. You will define architectures, lead design around a mobile SOC, and integrate cameras with imaging electronics.

Responsibilities include DFM for mass production, creating validation plans, and solving reliability and performance issues through development to production. FAA 107 readiness encouraged.

Qualifications

• Shipping high-volume consumer electronics in a senior/architect role.

• EMI/RF troubleshooting experience.

About the role:

We are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer who will help architect, develop, and refine the electrical systems that bring together state-of-the-art computing hardware, sensing, and power systems. How you'll make an impact:

Define the architecture and select components for a complex embedded electro-mechanical and optical system

Work and direct others through detailed design of main logic, interconnect, power, RF and sensing systems around a mobile SOC

Integrate sophisticated cameras and imaging electronics

Incorporate DFM and other manufacturing considerations on the way to high-quality mass production

Create and carry out a validation plan for the system electronics

Solve related reliability, yield, and performance issues through development and into production

What makes you a good fit:

Experience shipping high-volume consumer electronic products in a senior or architect-level role

Connected products (wifi, cellular)

Troubleshooting EMI/RF problems

Familiar with scripting/programming in Python/C

Obtaining FAA Part 107 certification within the first 60 days of employment is strongly encouraged for all Skydio employees and required for certain positions.

Compensation:

At Skydio, our compensation packages for regular, full-time employees include competitive base salaries, equity in the form of stock options, and comprehensive benefits packages. Compensation will vary based on factors, including skill level, proficiencies, transferable knowledge, and experience. Relocation assistance may also be provided for eligible roles. The annual base salary range for this position is $127,500 - $240,000*. Regular, full-time employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's group health insurance plans.
