Job summary

Goodwin Recruiting is assisting a growth-focused manufacturing group in Kennesaw, GA to hire a Senior Electrical Design Engineer. You will lead UL 508A panel design for data-center and critical infrastructure projects, driving engineering excellence and fast delivery.

You will create electrical schematics and panel layouts using EPLAN Electric P8, develop standards libraries, oversee designs, and mentor teammates across locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline preferred.
• 5+ years of electrical design experience in control panel manufacturing, switchgear, power distribution, or system integration.
• Proficiency with EPLAN Electric P8.
• Hands-on UL 508A panel design experience under documented shop procedures.
• Strong knowledge of UL 508A standards and electrical design principles.
• Track record creating electrical schematics, panel layouts, BOMs, and engineering documentation.
• Effective communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Create electrical schematics, panel layouts, terminal plans, and documentation using EPLAN Electric P8 and Pro Panel.
• Develop and maintain standard libraries, templates, and design assets to support consistent high-quality production.
• Lead custom designs for UL 508A control panels and UL 891 switchboards, ensuring compliance with UL requirements.
• Oversee and approve all product designs, technical documentation, and component selection.
• Engage in engineering design reviews and provide technical leadership during customer engagements and UL audits.
• Support manufacturing teams, troubleshoot technical issues, and drive continual improvement in standards and processes.
• Mentor and help onboard new technical team members, fostering a strong technical culture across all locations.
