Job summary

Jobot is seeking an Electrical Power Design Engineer in Colorado to design, develop, and test power electronics boards for space-based systems. You will create schematics with OrCAD, manage PCB layout reviews, and develop FPGA/microcontroller interfaces.

You will collaborate across systems, manufacturing, and test teams to ensure reliability. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in space power electronics, derating and radiation considerations, and strong collaboration and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience developing power electronics boards for space systems.
• Proficiency with schematics/documentation in OrCAD.
• Experience with FPGA/microcontroller interfaces.
• Experience in hardware test/verification at unit/subsystem level.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and test power electronics boards for space-based electrical power systems.
• Create schematics and documentation using the OrCAD tool suite.
• Manage PCB layout and design reviews in collaboration with layout engineers.
• Develop FPGA, microcontroller, or microprocessor-based control and telemetry interfaces.
• Support hardware test, verification, and troubleshooting at the unit and subsystem level.
• Lead electronics design efforts throughout the product lifecycle.
• Support component selection suitable for space applications, including derating, radiation tolerance, and reliability considerations.
• Collaborate with systems, manufacturing, and test engineering teams to ensure product quality and reliability.
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical input to ensure the feasibility of proposed solutions.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards and regulations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in developing power electronics boards for space-based electrical power systems.
• Proficiency in creating schematics and documentation using the OrCAD tool suite.
• Experience with FPGA, microcontroller, or microprocessor-based control and telemetry interfaces.
• Experience supporting hardware test, verification, and troubleshooting at the unit and subsystem level.
• Experience leading electronics design efforts throughout the product lifecycle.
• Knowledge of component selection suitable for space applications, including derating, radiation tolerance, and reliability considerations.
• Excellent collaboration skills and experience working with systems, manufacturing, and test engineering teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Must be a self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
