Job summary

Corning seeks an Electrical Controls Designer to support electrical controls design, documentation, and implementation for new equipment and capacity upgrades in Optical Fiber manufacturing. You’ll collaborate with engineering teams to ensure accurate drawings, adherence to standards, and timely updates through the ECR process.

The role requires hands-on CAD work, strong problem-solving, and the ability to work both independently and with teams, with travel up to 25% (mainly within NC) and

Qualifications

• Ability to read and create electrical schematics and P&IDs.
• Understanding of industrial electrical and controls systems.
• Experience with electrical CAD and documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain electrical controls drawings (schematics, P&IDs, layouts).
• Update and revise documentation through ECR process.
• Support equipment build, installation, and startup by resolving design issues.
• Assist with FAT and incorporate field changes into drawings.
• Support new equipment, replacements, and capacity expansion projects.
• Help improve and standardize equipment designs.
• Maintain documentation in Autodesk Vault.
