Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead large electrical construction initiatives. You will supervise PMs, manage multi-phase lifecycles, coordinate with clients and GCs, and drive cost, schedule, and scope control across projects.

The role requires strong leadership, communication, and analytical thinking to deliver complex, integrated systems on time and within budget. On-site collaboration across diverse teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Supervise Construction Project Managers and perform PM duties on construction projects.
• Maintain operational and administrative control for construction projects; manage multiple projects.
• Experience in up-front project involvement with engineering firms, clients, and general contractors.
• Proven track record of successful projects across multi-discipline teams (Fire Alarm, Communications, Security, AV, Power, Instrumentation).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams to meet business objectives.
• Able to work in a diverse environment with varied backgrounds.
• Strong analytical thinking to evaluate options and planning.
• Strong leadership and coaching skills; facilitate change.

Responsibilities

• Perform the overall administration, organization, and implementation of large scale electrical construction projects.
• Manage several phases of the project lifecycle: proposal, design, solutioning, installation, and close.
• Prepare project documentation, including requirements, manpower, layouts, schedules, and manuals.
• Coordinate and assist with project kick-off meetings.
• Develop a Work Breakdown Structure with resources assigned to tasks.
• Assist with scheduling to maintain the baseline project schedule.
• Create baseline vs actual reporting of resources as required.
• Provide site surveys, cost studies, forecasts, cost codes, and progress reports.
• Assist in collecting progress data for self-perform and contractor work.
• Monitor project scope and performance against the plan; manage variances.
• Develop and maintain project artifacts, including shop drawings.
• Coordinate acquisition of major materials and equipment with leadership and warehouse.
• Lead acquisition of permits and licenses; ensure inspections are handled timely.
• Estimate and schedule with estimators, schedulers, and other resources; resolve issues.
• Review the project schedule with GC and/or Customer; work directly with Customer on scheduling.
• Integrate data from multiple systems to analyze project progress.
• Ensure timely punch items, as-builts, manuals, and training materials.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and best practices.
• Maintain positive relationships with project leadership to achieve milestones.
