Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Senior Electrical Certification & Qualification Engineer to lead evaluation, qualification, testing, and certification of high-amperage components used in industrial chillers. The role emphasizes component-level qualification and coordination with UL and testing labs, with a focus on supply chain alternatives.

The position operates on a contract basis, primarily remote, with initial travel to New Freedom, PA, and occasional visits to certification laboratories.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required or closely related field.
• 10+ years of experience with low-voltage power distribution and protection equipment.
• Direct experience qualifying, testing, certifying, or developing high-amperage circuit breakers.

Responsibilities

• Lead certification and qualification of high-current electrical power distribution devices for industrial chillers.
• Develop qualification strategies for breakers, disconnects, fuses, lugs, and related accessories.
• Coordinate with UL, certification bodies, and testing labs.
• Define test plans and acceptance criteria for certification.
• Support UL listings and component recognition for alternate-source components.
• Interface with suppliers and internal teams to mitigate availability challenges.
