Job summary

United States Sugar Corporation seeks an Electrical Controls Manager to lead electrical, instrumentation, automation and process control systems across its manufacturing operations. This role ensures reliability, safety and continuous improvement through capital project execution, asset management, and technical governance.

The position leads a multidisciplinary team and partners with Operations, Maintenance and Reliability to optimize performance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
8+ years in industrial electrical, instrumentation, and control systems in manufacturing.
Demonstrated leadership of engineering, maintenance, or technical teams.
Strong knowledge of 13.8kV/4.16kV/480V distribution systems.
Experience with PLC platforms (Allen‑Bradley) and industrial HMIs.
Familiarity with industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet, AS-i).
Knowledge of PID process control and automation systems.
Experience with SAP or CMMS/ERP systems.
Project management, budgeting and capital project execution experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Abide by safety regulations and participate in training sessions.
Lead and oversee Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls operations.
Directly manage salaried engineering and supervisory staff; oversee hourly technicians.
Serve as subject matter expert for electrical/automation systems.
Provide technical leadership to troubleshoot complex control issues.
Develop and implement electrical, controls, and instrumentation solutions.
Lead design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and startup of projects.
