Job summary

FX Shoulder Solutions Inc. seeks a Senior Electrical & AR Systems Development Engineer to lead hardware design, electronics, and testing for proprietary AR systems used in orthopedic surgical applications.

The role collaborates with the AR Engineer and a multidisciplinary team, applying IEC/ISO medical device standards to develop safe, manufacturable hardware. This hands-on position emphasizes prototype development, electrical safety, and verification rather than software algorithms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years in electrical engineering, hardware development, embedded systems, or electromechanical product development.
• Hands-on experience with circuit design, PCB development, soldering, wiring, assembly, and testing.
• Experience with camera systems, optical sensors, or AR hardware.
• Knowledge of computer vision, optical tracking, spatial computing, or AR system architectures.
• Practical experience applying IEC 60601-1 and 60601-1-2 to medical devices; ISO 14971 risk management.

Responsibilities

• Independently design, build, assemble, and test electronic and electromechanical systems for AR/optical tracking.
• Develop electrical architectures, schematics, PCB layouts, wiring, and system specs.
• Prototype, troubleshoot, modify hardware with hands-on soldering and assembly.
• Integrate components (cameras, sensors, microcontrollers, power) and interfaces.
• Support calibration, synchronization, and tracking performance evaluation.
• Collaborate with AR software and hardware teams to ensure integration.
