Arthrex, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineering Technician - I&R to design, prototype, build, troubleshoot, and repair advanced electro-mechanical systems for engineering lab testing.

The role supports design engineers in developing concept and prototype assemblies that bridge to finished medical device systems. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience in R&D, verification/validation builds, circuit assembly, and problem solving, with familiarity in medical device development and

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree or some college preferred.
  • 5 years of relevant work experience within medical devices or manufacturing is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work on R&D, verification and validation builds requiring sound judgment and collaboration.
  • Assemble components to specifications using specialized hand tools, measuring equipment, microscopes, and ensure proper fit within guidelines.
  • Generate and perform detailed electrical test procedures and document results.
  • Determine root cause analysis using data analysis and other tools.
  • Assist with various aspects of Engineering Product Development as assigned.
  • Perform cleaning or calibration of lab equipment per preventive maintenance schedules.

Electrical Engineering Technician, Sr. - I&R

Title: Electrical Engineering Technician, Sr. - I&R

Arthrex, Inc. is a global medical device company and a leader in new product development and medical education in orthopedics. Arthrex is actively searching for a Sr. Electrical Engineer Technician. This individual will be responsible for designing, prototyping, building, troubleshooting, and repairing highly specialized Electro-Mechanical Systems for use in Engineering Lab Testing, as well as supporting design engineers in the development of concept and prototype Electro-Mechanical Assemblies that eventually bridge to Finished Medical Device Systems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work on assignments, such as R&D, Verification and Validation builds that require sound judgement, and collaborative skills in resolving any issues.
  • Assemble components to specifications using specialized hand tools, measuring equipment, microscopes, while making decisions regarding proper fit within established guidelines as may be required.
  • Generate and Perform Detailed Electrical Test Procedures and Document Results.
  • Ability to complete complex tasks and assignments in creative and effective ways.
  • Determine Root Cause Analysis using a variety of tools, including Data Analysis.
  • Assist with various aspects of Engineering Product Development as may be assigned.
  • Performs or initiates any cleaning in the work area or maintenance/calibration of Lab Equipment as directed by Preventive Maintenance/Calibration Schedule.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
  • Advanced knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Capable of installing circuit board, power supplies, face plates, cables, troubleshooting circuits, participating in circuit design activities, creation of schematics and mechanical drawings, as well as fabricating breadboards and mechanical systems as may be necessary to house the electronics.
  • Knowledge of surgical equipment and instrumentation.
  • Ability to support manufacturing vendors to provide processing improvements and clarify device specifications.

Education/ Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Associate's degree or some college preferred.
  • 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in medical device development or manufacturing preferred.
  • Experience with engineering specification documentation and conventions preferred.
