Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking an energetic Design Release Engineer, Electrical Accessories to lead the development of electrical accessory point integration for automotive programs. You will work with electrical hardware, systems, and software teams along with the accessory group to create robust, cost-effective connection points, reporting to the Manager of Electrical Modules and Accessories.

This role requires creativity, initiative, and leadership to drive complex design and release

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
5 years automotive electrical design and release experience.
Hands-on experience with LV components (breakers, relays, wiring).
Hands-on experience with HV components (DCDC, motor/inverter, battery).
Hands-on experience with CAN, LIN, and Ethernet interfaces.
Familiar with problem solving methods like 8D, Five Whys, Fishbone.
Knowledge of FMVSSS, NHTSA, DOT, USCAR, SAE, NEC standards.
Excellent communication and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

Define requirements for electrical accessories, including wiring harnesses, control modules, lighting, and other components.
Develop designs using CAD software while ensuring compatibility with vehicle systems.
Work with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to integrate accessories.
Collaborate with manufacturing and purchasing to support production and resolve issues.
Apply LEAN Engineering methodologies throughout development.
