Job summary

Exponent's Construction Consulting Practice seeks an Electric Utility Project Manager in Houston to lead complex transmission projects from pre-construction to close-out, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery. You will collaborate with utility teams, engineers, regulators, and contractors to drive successful outcomes.

The role requires 8+ years in the electric utility or related heavy industrial sector, a strong background in project controls, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil/Construction/Electrical/Mechanical/Structural Engineering or similar; advanced degree preferred.
• 8+ years in electric utility industry or heavy industrial fields in project/construction management roles.
• Strong experience in construction project management and controls; leadership and stakeholder coordination.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to synthesize complex information and plan responses.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and manage projects to meet schedule, cost, and scope.
• Develop schedules, budgets, and risk management plans.
• Manage schedule, cost performance, and forecasting/reporting cycles.
• Perform change control and implement mitigations; coordinate with teams and stakeholders.
• Oversee contractor performance and drive progress; proactively mitigate risks.
• Prepare reporting for stakeholders and executives.
