Job summary

Exponent, Inc is seeking a Senior Associate for an Associate Project Manager role within its Construction Consulting Practice in Oakland, CA. You will lead complex electric transmission projects from pre-construction to close-out, controlling cost, schedule, scope, risks, and data integrity while coordinating with engineers, regulators, and contractors.

You will forecast, analyze variances, and report performance to leadership, leveraging Primavera P6, Power BI, Microsoft Project, and MS Office

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering or similar (advanced degree(s) preferred).
• Minimum of 4+ years of experience in the electric utility industry (preferred) or heavy industrial fields in project/construction management roles.
• Strong experience in construction project management and project controls.
• Adaptable to dynamic team environments and able to multitask across projects.
• Excellent client interactions and written/verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and help manage projects to meet schedule, cost, and scope.
• Develop schedules, budgets, and risk management plans.
• Manage schedule/cost performance, reporting, and forecasts to stakeholders.
• Perform change control and implement risk mitigations.
• Coordinate project teams and stakeholders (engineers, contractors, regulators, etc.).
• Drive timely progress and resolve obstacles on project activities.
• Oversee contractor performance and risk/issue tracking.
• Prepare reports and KPI analyses for executives and project teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Primavera P6, Power BI, and MS Office.
