Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electric Transmission Siting Professional to support transmission projects from planning through regulatory filings. You will lead siting workstreams, coordinate with engineers, environmental specialists, and regulators, and help develop routing, permitting strategies, and stakeholder engagement.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 4–8 years of experience in transmission or linear infrastructure, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in planning, geography, environmental science, engineering, natural resources, real estate, public policy, or related discipline.
• 4–8 years supporting electric transmission or linear infrastructure projects; experience in route evaluation, permitting, and environmental planning.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and reviewing consultant deliverables.
• Working familiarity with utility siting, transmission permitting, agency coordination, landowner outreach, and stakeholder engagement.
• Strong technical writing, problem-solving, prioritization, and GIS/project-management tool skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently execute route, site, and constraint evaluations; identify data gaps and alternatives.
• Support landowner outreach, property research, and right-of-way activities.
• Lead portions of client meetings, agency consultations, and stakeholder discussions.
• Review junior staff work and provide task-level direction and quality control.
• Recommend solutions to routine technical and coordination challenges while managing budgets and schedules.
