Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electric Transmission Siting Professional to support planning, routing, siting, permitting, and stakeholder engagement for transmission projects. You will contribute to siting for overhead and underground lines, substations, and interconnections, coordinating teams across engineering, environment, regulatory, and real estate disciplines.

The role emphasizes independent route and site evaluations, client meetings, and governance of schedules and budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in planning, geography, environmental science, engineering, real estate, public policy, or related field.
• 4–8 years supporting electric transmission or linear infrastructure projects, with route evaluation, permitting, and environmental planning experience.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and reviewing consultant deliverables.
• Familiarity with utility siting, permitting, agency coordination, landowner outreach, and stakeholder engagement.
• Strong technical writing, problem-solving, prioritization, and GIS/project-management tool skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently execute route, site, and constraint evaluations and identify data gaps and alternatives.
• Support landowner outreach, property research, access coordination, and right‑of‑way activities.
• Lead portions of client meetings, agency consultations, stakeholder discussions, and field activities.
• Review junior staff work, provide direction, and ensure quality control.
• Recommend solutions to technical and project-management challenges while tracking budget and schedule.
