Job summary

LingoAce is seeking an experienced ELA Curriculum Architect to lead the academic design of a Grades 6–8 Reading-to-Writing program. This remote role focuses on defining curriculum architecture from the top down, while our internal team develops lesson materials under your guidance.

You will shape course maps, progression, and unit design, ensuring standards alignment, rigorous outcomes, and a coherent multi-grade framework across the program.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in U.S. middle school ELA, literacy, curriculum design, or instructional leadership.
• Owned or led curriculum design at the program or multi-grade level.
• Strong track record developing curriculum frameworks, scope & sequences, course maps, or full-course programs.
• Deep understanding of Grades 6–8 ELA and CCSS ELA standards.
• Expertise in reading-to-writing instruction, close reading, text analysis, evidence-based writing, and various writing genres.
• Ability to translate an academic vision into a clear framework for writers to execute.
• Strong editorial and academic judgment when reviewing curriculum developed by others.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced ELA Curriculum Architect to lead the academic design of a Grades 6–8 Reading-to-Writing program.

This is not a curriculum-writing or lesson-development role. We are looking for someone who has experience building a coherent curriculum system from the top down—defining what students should learn across grade levels, how skills progress from year to year, how reading and writing connect, and how units and lessons fit into the broader instructional model.

You will establish the curriculum architecture and academic direction. Our internal curriculum team will develop lesson-level materials based on that framework, with your ongoing review and guidance.

What You’ll Own

• Design the overall Grades 6–8 ELA curriculum architecture, including Course Maps, Scope & Sequences, unit structures, and grade-to-grade progression
• Build a coherent Reading-to-Writing pathway across Grades 6–8, including reading analysis, evidence use, writer’s craft, source-based writing, and independent writing
• Define clear instructional progression, standards alignment, learning outcomes, and academic rigor across the full program
• Establish unit-level design specifications that internal curriculum developers can translate into lessons and materials
• Guide anchor-text selection, writing-task progression, assessments, rubrics, and instructional scaffolds
• Review work developed by the internal curriculum team and provide high-level academic direction and actionable feedback
• Ensure consistency and coherence across grades, units, assessments, and instructional materials

What We’re Looking For

• Significant experience in U.S. middle school ELA, literacy, curriculum design, or instructional leadership
• Demonstrated experience owning or leading curriculum design at the program or multi-grade level
• Strong track record developing curriculum frameworks, Scope & Sequences, Course Maps, instructional progressions, or full-course programs
• Deep understanding of Grades 6–8 ELA and CCSS ELA standards
• Strong expertise in reading-to-writing instruction, close reading, text analysis, evidence-based writing, and narrative, informational, argumentative, and research-based writing
• Ability to translate an academic vision into a clear framework that curriculum developers and writers can execute
• Strong editorial and academic judgment when reviewing curriculum created by others

Strongly Preferred

• Experience designing advanced or enrichment-focused programs, online learning, blended learning, or small-group instruction is a plus.

Location Requirement

This is a fully remote position, but candidates must be based in the United States.
