Job summary

Carus Corporation in LaSalle, IL is seeking a Senior EHSS Engineer to lead health, safety, and environmental programs across multiple locations. This role blends hands-on site presence with strategic system-wide enhancements to improve safety and environmental performance.

You will manage permits, reporting, audits, RCAs, and corrective actions, develop metrics, and influence the entire organization to adopt best-in-class EHSS practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in health & safety, environmental, engineering, or technical field with seven+ years of experience.
• Experience with permitting, auditing, and root cause analysis.
• Strong communication, leadership, and accountability across all levels.
• Experience with OSHA and Industrial Hygiene; willingness to advance to EHSS Manager.

Responsibilities

• Manage health, safety, and environmental compliance including permitting and reporting.
• Develop and lead a multi-year safety improvement plan across the company.
• Maintain EHSS policies, train staff, conduct audits, and drive improvements.
• Conduct RCAs and track corrective actions to completion.
• Support regulatory interactions and monitor emerging issues.
• Develop metrics, prepare analytics reports, and advise management on trends.
