Job summary

MKS Instruments in Rochester, NY is seeking a Sr EH&S Specialist to integrate EHS programs into daily operations and ensure regulatory compliance and employee safety. You will report to the Director, EH&S for the Americas.

In this role you will lead safety committees, coordinate with federal and state agencies, train employees on safety policies, investigate incidents, and manage the site EHS budget. A BS degree in Environmental field and 8+ years of EH&S experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• BS degree or higher in Environmental field or related discipline.
• 8+ years of EH&S experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of federal and state health and safety regulations.
• Hazardous materials handling training such as HAZWOPER/GHS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development, coordination, and implementation of Corporate EHS policies.
• Support CSR-EHS & Sustainability programs and metrics development.
• Lead incident investigations and corrective action plans.
• Interact with OSHA, DEP, EPA, insurers, and local authorities for permits and inspections.
• Chair the Safety Committee monthly and coordinate action items.
• Train employees on safety policies and regulations with HR involvement.
• Review project plans for compliance with safety, security, and environmental standards.
• Manage the site EHS budget and monitor expenditures.
