Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb in New Brunswick, NJ is seeking a Senior Manager, EHS & Process Safety for the NBR Facility. You will lead and partner with EHSS to develop and implement programs ensuring regulatory compliance, safe operation, and continuous improvement.

The role covers PSM, MOC, PSSR, hazard analyses, training, and coaching the EHS team as part of a cross-functional, matrix organization. This is a full-time position in a hybrid model with strong benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in science or engineering required; graduate degree or license desired.
• 8–12 years in regulated EHS role in operations/manufacturing.
• Experience in chemical, power plant, or pharma industry preferred.
• Experience working in a matrix organization.
• MS Office and EHS systems like Intelex.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, safety, and sustainability laws.
• Manage PSM elements for the Cogeneration Plant (COGEN).
• Support PSM documentation (PSI, P&IDs, equipment specs, relief device records, chemical inventories).
• Support Process Hazard Analyses (PHA) and HAZOP studies; resolve action items.
• Manage the MOC process and impact assessments for modifications to COGEN processes.
• Oversee Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR) for new/modified equipment.
• Develop and implement new EHS programs and update existing ones.
• Provide regulatory guidance for high-risk work programs (fall protection, electrical safety, excavations, PSM, etc.).
• Investigate causes of industrial accidents to prevent recurrence.
• Participate in EHS operations, committees, and audits.
• Use site platforms for investigations, reporting, and inspections.
• Lead in an EHS culture at the site with operational teams.
• Conduct SOP reviews and track CAPA actions.
• Introduce new approaches to improve workflows and processes.
• Coach and mentor EHS team members.
