Job summary

Ventura Foods in Saint Joseph, MO, is seeking an EHS Manager to lead safety and health programs across our manufacturing sites. You will develop and execute strategies, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive incident prevention, training, and continuous improvement.

You will mentor the EHS team, collaborate with plant leadership, integrate ISO 14001/OSHAS 18001 concepts, and advance waste minimization and safety performance, while aligning with company goals and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, safety, industrial hygiene, or related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of EHS leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of EHS Management Systems, regulatory compliance, and safety performance improvement.
• Experience with PSM, behavior-based safety, training, and waste minimization.
• Solid understanding of EHS regulations at the federal, state, and local levels.
• CSP or CIH certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with and improvement of EHS programs meeting regulatory requirements at multiple levels.
• Provide guidance on EHS regulations and develop plans for incident-free operations and risk reduction.
• Oversee incident investigations, maintain EHS management systems, and integrate OSH standards.
• Lead behavior-based safety processes and support security guidelines and capital project input.
• Ensure compliance with Food Safety policies including FSMA and preventive controls.
