Job summary

Qualifications

• Ten (10) years of safety experience or combination of education/multiple years’ experience in commercial building construction.
• Bachelor’s degree in Safety and Health or equivalent preferred.
• OSHA 30, current First Aid, CPR, AED are required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and makes decisions related to project safety, health, and environmental policies.
• Observes and stops work when circumstances present immediate danger to life, property, and environment on all projects.
• Work with Safety Director to implement corrective actions based on policies and procedures.
• Provide leadership on active projects and build strong relationships with project staff.
• Serve as site EHS Professional for all active projects and be the resource for EHS questions and improvements.
• Coordinate Safety Committee meetings and deliver training on accident prevention.
• Ensure compliance with Local, State, and Federal regulations and owner/contractual requirements.
• Educate and advise project staff on EHS guidelines and policies.
• Order sign packages for each new project and ensure safety equipment is in place (fire extinguishers, First Aid Kits, AEDs).
• Collaborate with third-party Environmental Consultant to ensure project compliance.
• Maintain OSHA Injury and Illness Recordkeeping Forms.
• Conduct scheduled and impromptu safety training and meetings.
• Aim to manage regulatory exposures to zero citations.
• Other duties as assigned
